English Red; on a plate in front of two swords in saltirer white pommelled and hilted gold a sinister gauntlet fesswise proper.

Origin/meaning

The Family Name of the Hereditary Chapion of England, who stood for the new Sovereign's right to rule following coronation. Duty last performed at the coronation of King George IV in 1821. The badge was approved on 6 December 1945.
