Klokoč (Detva) (Erb, znak)

Official blazon

V modrom štíte dvoma zlatými ratolesťami ovenčená strieborná zlatostredá a zlatokališná ruža prevýšená zlatou, perlami a rubínmi zdobenou a purpurom podšitou korunou.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 18, 2004.

The village did not have any historical arms. There is one seal known, dating from the 18th century, which shows a crown and two wheat ears. The meaning of the crown is not known, the wheat probably refers to the agricyltural character of the village.

The arms were thus designed in 2004 and to the historical symbols a rose was added. The name Klokoč refers to a tree, the European Bladdrnut (Staphylea pinnata), which has white flowers. As the seeds of this tree were often used to make rosaries, a white rose was chosen as a symbol for the tree and its use.
