LESSACH

State : Salzburg
District : Tamsweg

Wappen von Lessach

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 15, 1973.

The arms are a combination of elements from previous rulers in the region. The points are taken from the arms of the Lords of Weisspriach, who held a large estate in the municipality in the 15th century. The wing is taken from the arms of the Counts of Ortenburg, as Hermann II, Count of Ortenburg acquired the local castle and estate in 1239.
