Official blazon

Arms : Barry wavy of six argent and azure, a Viking ship Or, the sail set of the first; on a chief wavy of the second a bull's head caboshed proper between two garbs gold.
Crest : On a wreath of the colours, Issuant from a wreath of laurel leaves, two arms embowed, the hand grasping a chain, all proper.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 2, 1935.

The Viking ship on a wavy background stands for the modern and historic ports of the County.

The chief has a bulls head between two garbs for the agriculture of the area. Thus is symbolised the two factors supporting the local economy.

The crest has two arms holding a chain. This is an heraldic pun on the county name - Lincs as it is known for short. The metal chain also refers to the establishment of steel production in the area, in part replacing the traditional industries shown in the shield.

The Motto- SERVICE LINKS ALL - is another pun on the County name.
