NEUMARKT IN STEIERMARK

State : Steiermark
District : Murau

Wappen von Neumarkt in Steiermark

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 3, 1446.

The arms were granted by King Friedrich IV (as Emperor, Friedrich III). Neumarkt is in Upper Styria, near the border to Carinthia. There are plenty of woods in the mountains, mostly coniferes (due to height and climate), hence the pine tree in the arms.
