English In front of a cross as in the Arms of Terciera, a hawk crowned with an Astral crown.

Motto: Valor lealdade e merito.

Origin/meaning

The Hawk alludes to the location on the Azores (Hawk Islands). The Cross is from the Arms of Terciera where the Group HQ was located. The Motto translates as ”Valor, loyalty and merit”. The Badge was approved in February 1945.
