History: First formed in 1943 at Naval Air Station Quonset Point, Rhode Island, USA for Fleet Air Arm Training.

Origin/meaning

The Pegsus is the emblem of US Naval Aviation and indicate formation in the USA. The Latin Motto translates as "Prepare for war". The badge ws approved in 1944.
