Origin/meaning

Archbishop Hallinan's personal arms show the cross and the oak from the arms of a Hallinan Family. The sword symbolises the Baptismal Patron of the archbishop - St Paul. the hearts are from the arms of Cardinal John Henry Newman and symbolises the archbishop's time as Chaplain at the Newman Foundation, Western Reserve University.

The motto translates as "That you shall love each other"
