(1994) In Blau ein silberner, gequaderter Torbau mit aufgeschlagenen, roten Torflügeln und drei Zinnen mit schwarzen Schießlöchern. In der durchbrochenen Toröffnung auf grünem, vom Schildfuß ausgehendem Dreiberg ein schwarzer, linkshin gewendeter Rabe, einen goldenen Eichenzweig mit drei Eicheln im Schnabel.
(2019) In Gold ein silberner, gequaderter Torbau mit aufgeschlagenen roten Türflügeln und drei Zinnen mit schwarzen Schießlöchern. In der durchbrochenen Toröffnung auf einem blauen, vom Schildfuß ausgehenden und mit drei silbernen, eins zu zwei gestellten Ringen belegten Dreiberg ein schwarzer, linkshin gewendeter Rabe mit einem goldenen Eichenzweig mit drei Eicheln im Schnabel.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 2019.

The new arms are a combination of the old arms of Peuerbach (see below), with the colours of Bruck-Waasen and in base an additional three rings, also taken from the arms of Bruck-Waasen.

The previous arms were granted on December 5, 1994.

The arms are based on the seal of the town from the late 18^th century (known since April 9, 1763). This seal showed a shield with a raven on a mountain, holding a branch with three acorns and standing before a gate. As no colours were known, the colours were chosen arbitrarily.

Peuerbach received the right to have its own seal in 1699. The oldest known seal only showed a bird holding a branch and standing on a mountain. The type of branch could not be determined.The raven is most likely derived from the arms of the Schifer family, who owned most of the town in the 14^th century. The origin of the acorns is not known, but they were used in 1663 on the official uniform of the market officials. The gate symbolises that the town was on the border against Bayern in the 18^th century.
