PUCHEGG

State : Steiermark
District : Hartberg-Fürstenfeld (until 2015 Hartberg)

Puchegg.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 10, 1993.

The chevron in the arms is taken from the arms of the counts of Herberstein, who had possessions in the region. This charge may illustrate the furrow at turning plough as well, because Puchegg is a mainly an agricultural municipality. The beech leaves and beechnuts on the chevron are a reference to the name of the municipality (Buche=beech) and the beech woods.
