Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 28, 1965.

The three mountains refer to the three largest mountains (Hoher Frassen, Rote Wand and Kellerspitze) as well as to the three villages (Litze-Plazera, Marul and Raggal) in the municipality. The miner's tools refer to the former mining as well as the name of the villae; Raggal can be derived from roden, or clearing forest.

The base shows a watermill wheel, symbol for the fomer mills and present hydropower station in the Ill reiver.
