Escudo de prata, barco de negro realçado de prata, mastreado e cordoado de negro e vestido de azul, navegando sobre campanha diminuta ondada de verde e prata de três peças; em chefe, à dextra, uma merjona ( armação de pesca ) e, à sinistra, um alcatruz, ambos de vermelho. Coroa mural de prata de quatro torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro : “ SANTA LUZIA - TAVIRA “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 9, 2002.

The arms refer to the importance of fishing in the Atlantic Ocean for the village. The chief shows a typical basket and jar used for octopus fishing.
