Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 11, 1980.

The cross refers to the local Cistercian monastery; the three pales are the colours of the arms of the Wallsee family, who founded the monastery in the 14th century.

Literature : Baumert, H.E. : Oberösterreichische Gemeindewappen, Linz, 1996.
