STAINZ BEI STRADEN
State : Steiermark
District : Feldbach
Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on 19 August, 1974.
In 1945, most of the buildings in the municipality were destroyed in the fights between the German Wehrmacht and the Russian Red Army. The brick wall in base refers to the reconstruction works. The bar argent stands for theSulzbach brook in the municipality.
The main charge of the arms is a so-called "Böckl" (buck), constructed out of five sheaves of rye straw. The Böckl was used to dry the straw on the field. It is (or rather: has been, due to the changes in agriculture) a peculiar tradition of this region.
