Portuguese Escudo de azul, arado de ouro com gancho, corrente e lâmina de prata, realçado de negro, entre coroa mariana de ouro, com pedraria de verde, em chefe e campanha de cinco burelas ondadas de prata e azul. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro : “ TOUGUINHA “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 20, 2002.

The crown is the symbol for St. Mary, the local patron saint. The plough refers to agriculture and the wavy base to the Rio Ave and Rio Este rivers in or near the parish.
