WATTENS
State : Tirol
District : Innsbruck-Land
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 2, 1956.
The arms symbolise the industrial character of the town. The orb in the upper half is the oldest known watermark used by the local paper mill. Its use dates from the 16th century.
The stone represent the modern artificial crystal industry in the municipality. The wavy bend symbolises the local river and the former watermills that made the industry possible.
