History: The Name was used by a Survey Vessel in service 1952-1973 replaced by a new one in 2004.

Gedeeld: I in zilver een geopende schaar, met haar midden geplaatst op een notizontale pijl, overtopt door en kroon van drie bladeren en twee paarlen, gwvoerd van keel, alles van sabel; II in zilver een omgekeerd anker van sabel.


Origin/meaning

The badge show the personal Arms of Captain J.L.H. Luymes (1869-1943). He was Head of the Hydrographic Service of the Netherlands Navy 1920-1935. In 1929-1930 he participated in the Snellius Expedition to the Netherlands Indies. The badge was approved 20 September 1952.
