The arms are those of Niedermendig, and show the lion of the Pfalz and the cross of the [[Trier (State)|State of Trier]]. The blue mill-stone symbolises the local quarries and stonecutting and masonry industry and also appears in the arms of the former [[Mayen (kreis)|Mayen]] district.
