Official blazon

Arms: Or, a lion rampant gules within a bordure sable charged with four roses of the second, barbed and seeded proper, and as many thistles slipped also proper alternately.
Crest: Within a chaplet of eight roses gules, barbed and seeded proper, and as many thistles slipped also proper alternately linked gold, a lion rampant also gules.
Supporters: On either side a unicorn argent, each collared Or, pendent therefrom an es­cutcheon, that on the dexter charged with the arms of the City of London and that on the sinister with the arms of the City of Aberdeen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 5, 1929.
