Gules a Eagle displayed Or. Crest an arm vested azure holding a torch. Motto: Fides ultra finem = Faithfulness beyond the end. The Coat of Arms symbolises Fort Pickens, the main fortification of the Coastal Defenses of Pensacola. This was the only place within the boundaries of the Confederacy where the Union Flag flew during the whole Civil War.
