The arms show two Eurasian pygmy owls, a very rare bird of the owl family, included in the list of threatened species. It is the smallest owl in Lithuania and Europe (the species may be found in forests around Pravieniškės), which weighs a mere 70 g. Its size was the reason why two Eurasian pygmy owls are pictured in the coat of arms of Pravieniškės. They allude to the twins Adomas (Adam) and Ieva (Ewe) Stančiauskas, born on 22 December 1769, whhich locals associate with the first mention of the town in written sources.
