The arms were officially granted on May 20, 2008.
 
The wavy division lines refer to the confluence of the Irsen and Manner rivers in the municipality. In historical times 5 water mills operated in the rivers, which were of great economic importance for the village. The mill stone refers to these water mills.
 
The other figure is a trademark or personal sign of an unknown master-mason found on a stone of the original 15th century church.
 
The red and silver colours are those of the Prüm Abbey and the County of Vianden, to which the area historically belonged. Later the area was part of the Duchy of Luxembourg, which is symbolised by the silver and blue colours.
