The arms were officially granted on December 21, 2011.

The silver and red colours refer to the County of Vianden and the Prüm Abbey, to which the village belonged for many centuries. The sword is a symbol for St. Donatius, the patron saint of the local chapel.

The base shows the treasure dating from around 1600, which was found in 1857 in the municipality and which contained 57 golden and 700 silver coins. The hills refer to the landscape in the municipality.
