The family zu Walchenstorff are the oldest noble family in the village. The oak leaf is taken from the arms as shown on seals of members of the family dating from 1387 and 1393. The other part is a reminder of [[Karl Joseph von Riccabona|Karl-Josef [[Bishop of [[Diocese of Passau|Passau]], who was a local priest for 30 years before he became a bishop in 1826. As a priest and as a bishop he donated many gifts to the town, for which he is still rememberd.
