WELGESHEIM

State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Mainz-Bingen (until 1969 Bingen)
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Sprendlingen-Gensingen

Wappen von Welgesheim
Official blazon
German

In Gold ein schräg gelagerter schwarzer Pfeil, links oben eine blaue Lilienkrone.

Origin/meaning

The above arms are a proposal from the 1950s and are based on the only known historical seal of the village. The seal dates from 1574 and shows a seal with an arrow. As supporter the St. Mary with child was used. The latter is replaced by a crown with lily-leaves in the above arms.
