Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1956 and are based on the early 15th century seals of the local council. The same composition can also been found in the local church and later documents.

The cross symbolises the local parish and the wheel is derived from the arms of the State of Mainz, as the village belonged to the State of Mainz for many centuries until 1803.
