Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1951 to Poppenhausen an der Wasserkuppe.
The arms are based on the arms of the medieval Lords of Steinau-Steinrück, who wah large possessions in the area. They also built the castle in Poppenhausen in the late 13th century.
