COVASNA (COUNTY)
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 7, 2007. The arms are identical to the old coat of arms adopted by the Romanian authorities in 1928.
The armed arm and the sword are reminiscent of the bravery of the inhabitants in defensive battles.
The heart signifies the goodness of the locals.
The sun and the crescent are symbols specific to the area, and the three stars refer to the three seats from which the county was formed.
The colours represent all the ethnic communities in the county, through the three traditional colors.
