Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on August 5, 1988.
The arms are canting: they show traditionally two birds besides a "niu" (Catalan for "nest") full of chicks. The former baron of Darnius, Miquel Joan de Taverner-Montornès i d'Ardena, became a count in 1692, and this is shown by the count crown at the top of the arms.
