Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 23, 1929.

The arms show a water mill wheel as a symbol for the many historical water mills in the area, in the Würm river. The crown is an imperial crown and symbolises on the one hand the legend that Charlemagne was born near the town. On the other hand the crown symbolises the many Royal and Imperial estates and farms in the area in the 8th-12th century.
The colours are derived from the arms of Bayern.
