Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 9, 1506 by Duke Albrecht IV of Bayern. All later seals and images show the same arms.
The chief shows the diamonds of the Wittelsbach family, Dukes of Bayern. The lower part shows three natural lilies on a mountain. The lilies are likely a symbol of justice and thus a symbol for the local court. It may also have been that the lilies are gentians, a typical flower for the mountainous arera.
The arms in a manuscript from 1599
The arms in an album from around 1910
The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925
Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes; Hupp, O: Kaffee Hag albums, 1920s
