Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1950. The arms symbolise the Saar and Mosel rivers that join near Konz. The rose is derived from the seals of the priors of the Karthaus Abbey. The anchor is the symbol of S. Nicholas, patron saint of Konz and of shipping in general. Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
