Wappen von Frickhofen/Arms (crest) of Frickhofen
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The two lions in the arms are the lion of Katzenelnbogen (right) and the golden lion of Nassau (left). Frickhofen belonged from 1367-1408 to the Counts of Katzenelnbogen and since to Nassau.

The arms were granted in 1965 and are based on the oldest known seal of the town, which dates from the 15th century. The seal showed an angel holding two shield each with one of the lions.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
