Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 18, 1960.

The fence is taken from the arms of the Lords of D(h)aun and Oberstein (see Daun), who acquired most of the area in the 13th century. The Lords of Sickinigen acquired the village in 1519 and ruled the village until 1793, which is symbolized by their arms with the silver balls.
