The Coat of Arms was originally approved for the 765th Transportation Railway Shop Battalion on 29 January 1953. It was rescinded on 14 August 1964. The Coat of Arms was reinstated and redesignated for the 765th Transportation Battalion on 23 April 1997. It was amended to include a crest on 20 August 1997. The Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved on 23 June 1966, it was amended to revise the the dscription and symbolism on 25 March 1988.
