HANDLING SQUADRON, ROYAL AIR FORCE

History: the Squadron was raised at Boscombe Down on April 12, 1954.

In front of wings conjoined in base a quill pen in pale.
Motto: Nota bene = Take careful note.

Origin/meaning

The Quill-Pen represent the reports prepared on new types of aircraft whilst the wings indicate the flying role of its Officers. The badge was approved in December 1955.
