Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 1, 1982.

The arms are based on the meaning of the name of the village, which is something like 'The river that flows through woody marshland where are wild boar' (Loobarbeke in 1525, loo is the woody marshland, bar is boar/bear and beke is a small river). The wavy bend symbolises the river (either the Stör or Ilbek stream), the oak branch the marshland. Instead of a boar in the upper part a bull's head was chosen, as a symbol for the agricultural character of the village.

The colours are the colours of the state Schleswig-Holstein.
