Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 18, 1954.

The arms show in the chief a deer antler for Württemberg. The crozier is a symbol of the Murrhardt Monastery, to which the local church historically belonged. The monastery also had several possessions in the municipality.

The 18^th century seal (used since 1772) of the village showed a crosier as a symbol for the monastery. The original symbol was not clearly recognised and the crosier had an S-shaped form.
