Wappen von Ottobrunn/Arms (crest) of Ottobrunn
Official blazon
German

In Blau die silberne Ottosäule, auf deren Sockel ein Löwe liegt, beiderseits je eine bewurzelte silberne Tanne.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

Ottobrunn became a separate municipality in 1955, before it was part of Unterhaching. The arms were granted on April 30, 1956.

The arms show the Ottosäule, a monument raised in 1833. It is a reminder of the departure of Otto, King of Greece, and son of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, from his native country. The trees are a reminder of the fact that the city is built on cleared forest. The colours are the colours of Bavaria.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
