Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1901 with the chamois in black, which was changed to gold in 1967.

The arms are canting, the name is derived from Tiersberg, or a mountain with a female goat or related animal. The arms first appeared on a seal dating from 1792. In the 19th century the local seal also showed the above arms, but with a crown on the shield. In 1901 the colours were added.
