The bell refers to the Zinna Abbey, which founded a monastery and the village in medieval times. According to legend a large bell has been lost in one of the lakes near the village. These lakes are symbolised by the blue colour. | |||
The upper half represents oak piles of which part of the monastery was built in the Baberow-lake. The shape of t he bue field resembles a cap (which refers to the name, which may be derived from a word for a type of monk's-cap). | |||
