The arms are based on a historical municipal seal containing St. Anthony of Padua. In the arms the saint was replaced with his attribute, the lily in a blue field. Symbolism was also transferred from the arms of the Lords of Lomnice and the Lords of Kunštát. The crossed hammers refer to the history of silver and lead mining in the region.
