 The arms were officially granted on January 27, 1970.
 The two stars are taken from the arms of the Swiss canton of [[Wallis/Valais|Wallis]] as the original settlers in the area came from Wallis. The scales are the symbol for the longtime court that was held in Fontanella. The green colour symbolises nature and agriculture.
