The arms were officially granted on September 1, 2000.
 
The castle represents the archaeological findings in the area, which includes the possibility of a castle haveing been in the area. The pliers and the palm leaf are symbols of St. Christina, the local patron saint. The base shows two wheat ears as a symbol for the agricultural character of the municipality.
