===Origin/meaning===
Possibly, the arms of the borough were granted at one time, but there is no grant on record. They were officially granted after the merger in 2014, on April 10, 2016.

Like Admont, Seckau, Stainz and St. Lambrecht, Vorau is a market borough near a great monastery, that of the Canons Regular at Vorau in Eastern Styria. The three fleur-de-lis are the symbol of St.Mary patron saint of the monastery. The monastery itself uses other arms.
