Ultramarine blue is the primary color associated with U.S. Army Aviation. The white and red stripes symbolize respectively, purity of purpose and blood shed in defense of liberty. The pile pointing downwards alludes to the unit's mission: To attack and destroy enemy troops and armor from the sky. The eagle embodies swift flight, strength and courage.
