The Pentagon allude to the Castle Hills located near the Boundary of the Station. The Roman Centurion's Helmet is indicative of a Military Base once occupied by the Romans and in present day by the RAF. The Colouring is indicative of the Hills and Rivers nearby. The badge was approved in March 1971.
