The Prussian Eagle is connected with the 14th. In 1798 this Regiment was granted the Title 14th (or Duchess of York's Own) Light Dragoons, in honour of Frederica Charlotte Ulrica Catherina, Princess Royla of Prussia. In 1791 she married the Duke of York. Since then the Eagle Badge commemorating the connection to the Prussian Royal House has been carried with the execption of the Years 1915-1931. The First World War promting removal of any sign of Enemy connection.
