+The arms were officially adopted on January 25, 1920.
+In 1602 the local council asked the Counts of Wertheim permission to have their own seal made. Whether that was granted is not known, but at least in 1811 the village used a seal with the arms of the Counts of [[Wertheim]] (in the upper half an eagle, in the lower three roses). This seal was identical to that of the 18 other municipalities in the county.
