The oldest known seal of the village dates from the early 19<sup>th</sup> century and shows the old village sign, a horseshoe. The village thus applied for arms in 1900 with the horseshoe. The State Archives, however, proposed the arms above, as there were already many villages with a horseshoe in their arms. The cross in the arms symbolises the local church, which is devoted to the Holy Cross.
